Q. What is a microfiche card and why would I want one?

A microfiche card is a very helpful reference tool that you can use when making repairs to your vehicle. The card is like a film negative - it contains part number for each and every item that makes up your machine and provides detailed exploded views of every major assembly. For example if you were repairing a water pump and needed to know what the part numbers and individual items that make up the entire assembly the fiche would show you and you would be able to order parts before ever getting your hands dirty.

When it comes time to order your parts you'll look smart. You'll know you're getting the correct part, your dealer will often give you a discount if they don't have to look up the part number, and you'll have a better understanding of how the parts work in relation to your vehicle.

Q. Won't a Repair Manual contain the same information? Why should I buy a card then?
A repair manual is a must if you are working on your vehicle. It provides you with repair, service and maintenance information needed to keep your bike in good shape. In most cases, however, repair manuals DO NOT include part numbers. Without physically removing the worn part from your vehicle and taking it down to the dealership you are left with trying to describe the item over the phone. With a microfiche card you'll know the part number and you'll get the right part the first time.

Q. I don't have a microfiche reader - how am I going to read the card?
This is a good question. It doesn't make much sense to buy your own microfiche card reader but you can get a handheld unit if you own several bikes. By far the most popular method of reading a card is to go down to your local city or college library and use their viewer to print yourself a paper copy. We can't sell paper copies because the material is copyrighted but if you buy the card you can make your own personal copy and then put the card in a safe place until you need it again.

Q. How do I order a microfiche card for my vehicle?
You can order a card by going to our homepage and searching for your vehicle. We accept all major credit cards and maintain a secure server for taking orders. You may also pay by mail using a credit card, U.S. drawn check or money order. Either method you prefer requires that you use first search for your vehicle and follow the prompts to the order page.

Q. How do I care for my microfiche card?
Think of your fiche as an archive of information for your bike. To maintain the quality of your fiche promptly copy the original to print and store the card in a dark dry place where it will be safe. Treat your microfiche card as you would film negatives.
