Autodata Motorcycle Flat Rate Labor Guide AD02-840

Includes 576 pages of labor time information for 1989-2002 BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, MUZ, Piaggio, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha street and off-road motorcycles. Over 300 model columns (models & years) make this manual a necessary tool for motorcycle dealers, independent repair & sales shops, and enthusiasts. Labor times are provided on average for up to 400 separate repairs for each model. Includes all the information you need to compute the repair times for specific service procedures. The repair times in this manual have been compiled from the motorcycle manufactures published times as used by their dealer network. The majority of manufacturers use time units of either one tenth or one hundreth of an hour. For consistancy all the repair times in this manaul are shown in hundreths of an hour eg 2.40. Although primarily intended for the costing of warranty claims, they are the only reliable basis for consistent and fair, estimating and costing of chargeable repairs. Repair times are sometimes called flat rates, and have been established by timing a sample of actual workshop operations and include a calculated element of additional time for items such as, bringing the motorcycle into the working area, completing the job card, collecting parts from the stores and other necessary periperal operations. In each case it is assumed that the techician involved has a resonable product knowledge, is of average ability and has all the facilities available for successful completion of the work. The manufacturers recommended method of working may well involve the use of special tools. If these are not available then adjustment to the times may be required to compensate for increased difficulty. Items which are not included in these times are the freeing of seized or rusty parts, the removal of accessories and non-standard fitments for access, and extra time incurred through the lack of tools and information, or difficulty encountered when fitting pattern parts. Diagnosis, necessitating the use of specialist equipment, should also be regarded as an additional element, although normal diagnosis of the action required to remedy a fault, bases on experience and the use of basic equipment, is included in the flat rate. If an operation is not listed, this means the manufacturer has not published time for this operation. This book is the only comprehensive labor guide available.
